Your privacy

GBBingO is a free, unofficial bingo companion app. This policy explains what information the app uses and why. The short version: we collect as little as possible, and nothing that personally identifies you.
What we collect
- Anonymous device ID — A randomly generated identifier stored only on your device. It is used to identify you within a multiplayer tent session (so others can see your score) and is never linked to your name, email, or any other personal information.
- Display name — The baker name you choose in the app. This is stored locally on your device and shared only within a tent session you actively join. You can change or delete it at any time in Settings.
- Game state — Your current bingo card and marked tiles are saved locally on your device so the app can restore them if closed. This data never leaves your device.
- Tent session data — When you host or join a multiplayer tent, basic session data (tent code, scores, participant names) is stored temporarily in Firebase Realtime Database. This data is deleted when the tent is closed.
What we do not collect
- No name, email address, or account is required to use the app
- No location data
- No contacts or camera access
- No analytics or behavioural tracking by us
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of GBBingO shows ads served by Google AdMob. Google may use your device's advertising identifier to show relevant ads. You can limit ad tracking in your device Settings under Privacy → Tracking. Purchasing the ad-free upgrade removes all ads.

Firebase
Multiplayer tent sessions use Google Firebase Realtime Database to synchronise game state between players. Firebase may collect basic usage and diagnostic data in accordance with Google's Firebase Privacy Policy. Anonymous sign-in is used solely to secure access to tent data — no profile is created and no personal data is stored in Firebase.
Data retention
Local data (device ID, display name, game state) remains on your device until you delete the app. Tent session data in Firebase is deleted when the host closes the tent. We do not retain any data on our own servers.
Children
GBBingO does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to function.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
